i)                   Write any two roles of educator to promote literacy
(½ + ½ marks for role names and ½ + ½ for explanation Total – 2 marks)
1.     Learner: The growth and progress in the field of science and technology is rapid, in best computer industry, new hardware and the software are developed with added test facilities in a very short span of time. The learner therefore must keep his knowledge up-to-date.

2.     Planner: The maximum use and benefit of computer is possible only when proper are planning and  its execution are strictly followed.

ii)                Explain trans-formative impact of ICT in education by using multimedia material and Video conferencing
(1 mark for impact in education by multimedia material and 1 mark for video conferencing Total – 2 marks)

Video conferencing is changing the way Government is working. Bringing experts, decision makers and citizens face to face who are spread across geographically. National Informatics Centre is providing video-conferencing services for Government organizations

Multimedia material: Audio cassettes, video tapes, audio and video CDs, video multimedia interactive CDs are available in market for students from KG to Post Graduate. Schools not having expert teacher can use radio, TV or multimedia CDs/DVDs which has rich content developed by expert teachers.

iii)              Define Forum and draw its structure
(1 mark for definition and 1 mark for forum structure Total – 2 marks)
Forum is the space on internet used to communicate, interact and collaborate with others. e.g. it is possible by means of discussions, chat rooms messaging windows, calendars. Information posted on a particular topic can be saved and other people  can see at any time creating a discussion environment. Everything that gets posted can be read any time. iv)              Explain any two types of VoIP
(½ + ½ marks for types and ½ + ½ for explanation Total – 2 marks)

Phone to Computer: Users can use a VolP program installed on their computer to call phones. They can call any number worldwide; landline or mobile phone.
VoIP Phones: VolP phones apparently look just like telephones. Users speak and hear through them just like a phone connected to the internet, hence the name is VoIP system. Dialing the number is same as that of normal phone.
VoIP Adapters: VoIP adapters can connect existing telephone to VoIP system. This means users can use their current phone touse VoIP.

v)                 Write any four benefits of ICT in Science and Mathematics
(½ mark each for four benefits Total – 2 marks)

b.     ICT provides opportunities for students to take part in co-operative activities.
c.      ICT provides variety of challenging learning processes
d.     ICT provides different ways for presenting data and information.

vi)              Explain social problems with ICT
(½ mark each for four social problems Total – 2 marks)
There are some negative effects of ICT. It has created social problem in the society.

6.     Answer the following (any two) :    [8]
i)                   State any four advantages and any four disadvantages of VoIP.
(½ marks each for four advantages and 1 + 1 for two (board changed requirement of four) disadvantages Total – 4 marks)

Advantages of VoIP:
1.     Computer and VoIP can be used simultaneously. VoIP services can be also used while traveling and can be used via Internet connection.
2.     VoIP is becoming preferred communication option for consumers due to lower fees for basic broadband service and the brisk adoption of even faster internet offerings.
3.     VoIP has established itself within the voice & data industries by means of integrating robust, scalable and reliable products within existing networks.
4.     VoIP brings together the best of the converged communications services.

Disadvantages of VoIP:
1.     Due to probability of data hacking, there is arising problem for the confidentiality of communications.
2.     Chances of receiving unwanted voicemails & e-mails cannot be avoided.
3.     Sometimes VoIP data travels in unencrypted form over the internet. Hence confidentiality in data transfer is one of the important issues.

ii)                State any four application of ICT in simulation with examples.
(½ marks each for four applications and ½ marks each for examples Total – 4 marks)
Simulation Computer simulation is the technique of representing the real world by a computer program.
Computer simulation is the special type of computer software. It creates artificial model of a system. It offers hands on activities that feel like the real experience.
Application of Simulation:
1) It is used in research. Example: Testing of explosive material virtually.
2) It is used in design. Example: To design model of a car, machine or any industrial product of factory.
3) It is used in risky training Example: In pilot training.
4) It is used in education. Example: Without using chemicals, neutralization process can be demonstrated.
5) It is used in Entertainment Example: War games, arcade games, 3D games.
